Sustainability

Natural gas, the raw material of our products, is created by nature and is one of the cleanest hydrocarbon sources on earth.

Danafilms seeks to be a good steward of the environment. Our engineers work on a daily basis for source reduction, finding ways to use less material for a wide variety of applications, reducing quantities of glass, metal, plastic and paper in packaging and other products. This helps the environment in three ways:

  • Lowers the demand for materials, including non-renewable petroleum-based resources.
  • Reduces carbon emissions by reducing the energy used in production and shipping.
  • Reduces the amount of material eventually ending in landfills.
manufacturing waste is collected and resusedDanafilms reclaims internal scrap material and reprocesses it for use in less demanding applications, such as bags for nuts and bolts.

We consolidate shipping, sending a dedicated truck once a week with orders for several customers in order to reduce emissions.

85% of incoming resin is shipped in bulk railcars to reduce emissions and packaging.

Our office and plant space is lit with high-efficiency, lower-voltage fluorescent tubes.

We invite our customers to ask about source reduction, shipping strategies and other methods to reduce the overall carbon footprint created by our collective business activities. It’s the responsibility of us all.
